7th October 2021

Thanks for your patience during this difficult time.
The committee wants to get the club back to use asap.

At this early stage we will be reopening on Wednesday the 27th October 2021 on a reduced "COVID" calendar which can be found here.

We will be basing our reopening on the 80% roadmap as outlined here. https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/easing-covid-19-restrictions/80-percent

First and foremost, if you are sick, stay home. If you are a close / casual contact of someone who has COVID-19 stay home. If you have been told to self isolate, stay home. Get tested.

All common sense stuff really. The last thing we want is to be a "high COVID-19 risk premises".

As per Regulations, you will have to prove (https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/vaccination/proof) that you are double vaxxed (or exempt; https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/topics/immunisation-medical-exemptions/40531) on entry, and check in using the NSW QR code system, that we guess you are all familiar with. If you do not have a facility to check in yourself, manual check in will be made available.

We have a touch screen in the club house to check in manually with Service NSW.

In the interests of giving everyone a fair go, can you please adhere to the one match per person, per day scenario. This is variable depending on the number of members at the club at the time.

We realise it is hard, and you want to see your mates, but please immediately leave the club to reduce your risk of possible exposure at the completion of your match.

Please wear a mask indoors and practice social distancing as per our agreed upon COVID safe plan.

We guess you all have alot of questions, so we will attempt to answer them here.

Q: What if I am not double vaxxed (or exempt) against COVID-19?
A: The NSW Government plans to reopen venues from 15th December or 95% double vaccinated, to people not fully vaccinated.
https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/easing-covid-19-restrictions/opening-in-dec

Q: Do I have to wear a mask?
A: Yes, However, when you are on the firing line, your mask may be removed to shoot. Please put it back on when you get out of your bay. It is a safety issue, it may impede your vision, so feel free to "mask off" when in your bay.

Q: Do I have to check in?
A: Yes, and check out when you leave. It is $1000.00 fine for individuals and $5000.00 for "businesses" who do not comply. Funds better spent on making your club better, so please do the right thing and follow the guidelines put in place for your safety.

Q: Do I have to book in to shoot?
A: No, just turn up as you normally would, first in first served as usual. Depending on volume, you may not get in when you want, please understand we will do all we can to accommodate you. Once again, please leave the club premises after your shoot to limit contact. If it gets too busy, you may be asked to politely leave and / or come back later, we are not out to upset anyone, just comply with the rules.

Q: Can I bring my lunch?
A: No, unless you have to eat for medical reasons. We are trying to limit contact and return to our sport as best we can. Please limit your time and contact at the club in these early days. We are sure you understand.

The webmaster and committee welcomes your feedback. Please email any enquiries to tlmpclub@hotmail.com or speak with a committee member.
Please check back regularly for changes / updates, this really is a changing situation, however we will communicate any change as they come to hand in a timely manner.
Stay Safe.

AGM Postponed
The constitution was written before this threat, so we have to work around it.
Basically, due to current restrictions, we cannot meet regardless of what the constitution states.

The AGM is suspended until current covid restrictions are lifted.
We will conduct the AGM as soon as restrictions are lifted and we can conduct the meeting in a COVID Safe manner, when ever that is.
At that time, the election of officers and other business can be conducted.
As per the constitution, we will give 28 days notice in writing of when the meeting will occur to allow time for members to submit in writing any member desirous of moving any resolution and to submit their candidacy for a committee position.
Until we can conduct a meeting safely, it is best to keep the status quo of the committee of management in place until such time a meeting can be held at the earliest possible opportunity, of which due notice will be given.

As an aside, The club is checked regularly in as much as a COVID Safe manner as possible. Maintenance is being done as required.
Unfortunately, our ongoings have not stopped and Robert is taking care of the bills.
Like you all I guess, the Webmaster misses the club and all it has to offer.
We will get through this and see you all on the other side, stay safe and best wishes.
Please email tlmpclub@hotmail.com if you have any questions or answers.

Stay safe everyone.

**UPDATE 12 30th June 2020 - FINAL**

There will no longer be a requirement to book for matches.
Peter has his eye on the ball and prepared an epic interim calendar that seems to cater for all comers.
The committee feels that booking is no longer required.
Great news.
We will update the calendar as needs be and keep you all updated via this website as news comes to hand.
However, it is full steam ahead for TLMPC.

The new normal is still in place for the time being, we will continue to monitor and report back.

This Calendar is for June/July 2020 and will be reviewed as more information is made available by the NSW Government and Dept Of Health on Guidelines for Pistol Clubs.

Once again, please read the guidelines and range responsibilities here and here so you know what to expect when you attend the range.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

Please ensure you maintain your social distancing, wash / sanitise your hands regularly and stay away if you are crook.

We are and wish to keep it that way, appreciate your co-operation.

**UPDATE 11 24th June 2020**

OK, slowly getting back to normality. <--- Exciting!!

This Calendar is for June/July 2020 and will be reviewed as more information is made available by the NSW Government and Dept Of Health on Guidelines for Pistol Clubs.

Once again, please read the guidelines and range responsibilities here and here so you know what to expect when you attend the range.

On a Wednesday, shooters attend and put their name on the board for Range 1 and 2 to shoot IRF.
When IRF is completed (no more shooters), details or a part of a detail may shoot NZ Classic or 25y Service as a group with the same RO.

At this stage once a detail (shooting group for a match and the RO) has been formed within the range complex, there should be no exchange of shooters across groups.
This is to prevent cross contamination in case of an outbreak of COVID-19. Please understand this is a critical requirement.

For matches on a Saturday and Sunday you need to email tlmpclub@hotmail.com after Wednesday of each week with details of the match, preferred time, and what you want to shoot.
P.S The webmaster is also accepting bribes.

We will make up a roster for the matches and the RO for the match.
You wont be able to make mass bookings weeks in advance, lets be fair and give everyone a go.

You will be emailed before 5PM on Friday with your "slot".

We realise this is far from ideal, but it is all we can do at this stage given the rules /regulations / advice we have at the moment.
This is the fairest way we can do things.
Apologies in advance if you do not get your preferred "slot".

We are trying to accomodate everyone as best we can.

Please ensure you maintain your social distancing, wash / sanitise your hands regularly and stay away if you are crook.

We are and wish to keep it that way, appreciate your co-operation.

We are all trying to make this comeback as smooth as possible and ask for your co-operation in making the current Rules work for everyone.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

As always any feedback is appreciated and encouraged to tlmpclub@hotmail.com

**UPDATE 10 19th June 2020**

The NSWAPA has issued Updated Guidelines for Pistol Clubs from 18th June 2020.

TLMPC INC will open from next Wednesday 24th June and will be shooting International Rapid Fire (IRF) in Ranges 1 and 2

Please read the guidelines and range responsibilities here and here so you know what to expect when you attend the range.
The club is officially registered as a COVID-19 Safe Business.
A calendar for June/July will be prepared to ensure we can maximize the ranges given the 4 sqm rules and avoid cross contamination between shooting groups.

So there you have it, we are re-opening, exciting!, albeit with new rules (The new normal).
Please bear with us as changes will no doubt occur and there will be limitations on you.
The first thing is no mixing in "shooting groups".
This is to reduce cross contamination, so basically, turn up, shoot, then please leave.
Sorry, but only one match, per man, per day to reduce cross contamination.
We realise you want to hang about and chat with your mates, but not just yet.

Please ensure you read the two documents before you come in, and understand your responsibilities and limitations.
Your temperature will be recorded on entry and you will be asked a few quick questions.
If you are symptomatic, please stay have and get tested.
Any visitors will also have their details, telephone and/or email recorded and kept on file securely.

As always, any questions, please email tlmpclub@hotmail.com
Please be patient and respectful when coming back to the club, and maintain social distancing.

Welcome back to TLMPC, stay tuned for more news as it comes to hand.

**UPDATE 9 11th June 2020**

Another update from the NSWAPA, hot off the wire.

We will update this page as news comes to hand, stay tuned.

This PDF file will give you the latest news.

Bad news; Not yet! Good news; Soon!
Once again, we will update the page as soon as news comes to hand and we have something concrete.

Appreciate everyone's patience and understanding.

Your committee is still working behind the scenes to ensure a safe return to the sport we love ASAP.

To this end, we have developed a plan, it has been submitted and we can now safely say (get the pun), we are officially registered as a COVID Safe business by the NSW Government.

The committee has put in alot of work to ensure your safety when we return to our sport.

Please follow the rules, read the signs, listen to your RO's and range staff.
Maintain your social distancing and wash your hands often and well.
Please be patient as things will no doubt change when we do open.

If you have questions, please email tlmpclub@hotmail.com

We will do all we can to answer your questions.
We wish to keep everyone informed as best we can, thanks again.

**UPDATE 8 2nd June 2020**

We just got this in from the NSWAPA, hot off the wire.

We will update this page as news comes to hand, stay tuned.

Dear Club Secretary

The Deputy Premier announced today the re-opening of gyms and other sporting activities.
We have checked with NSW Sport and it has been confirmed that indoor shooting has not restarted.

We have made submissions requesting exemptions for what was deemed to be indoor shooting ranges by the NSW Health Department.
Last Monday we responded to a questionnaire sent to the President regarding “making improvements to the situation”.
We have received acknowledgement for our submissions, but as yet, we have not received any formal reply.

We can assure you as soon as have some detailed information, we will forward it on to you as a matter of priority.

We did request that we be notified prior to the media releases by the politicians, but have been told this is not possible.

This causes immense confusion for people wanting to recommence their chosen sport.

We apologise for the prolonged disruption and appreciate your patience on the matter.

**UPDATE 7 1st June 2020**

Still waiting to hear if we can open the range, your committee is checking daily.
This is probably what you don't want to hear.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

Updates will be posted here as soon as we hear something / anything.

We all want to get back into it, I sure do!

In the mean time have a read of the latest PA journal.
In this edition, Allison is keeping the juniors occupied in iso, good job.

If you are a junior, reach out to us and we will put you in contact with Allison for her weekly Zoom meetings.

**UPDATE 6 22nd May 2020**

Well you cannot say life isn't interesting.

We received this after 5pm today from NSWAPA.

Unfortunately, there will be no shooting tomorrow!

Please read below, apparently, the definition of an indoor range is an issue.

Sincere apologies for mucking you all about, it is not our intention.
Please stay tuned for updates, exciting times, a false start.
We will get there.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

Subject: AMENDMENT: Outdoor Range Update
To:
Dear Club Secretary
It has come to our attention that a range that is built in by a roof and back walls, although appreciably open, is considered to be indoors. Participation of our sport on this type of range will not be allowed at this stage.

What we consider to be a normal outdoor range, has been defined by NSW Health as “indoor”.

We are able to request an exemption on this matter, and we will be doing so immediately. We have been informed that 21 sports have received exemptions.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused. If your range only has a roof, you are free to commence.
All other measures that we have previously notified that would satisfy the health requirements, still stand.

We are also in preliminary talks with NSW Health of putting in place a Procedures Guide in case anyone that has been to a range tests positive to COVID-19.
Everyone who attends a range MUST sign in with their name and phone number so that in case required, the information can be passed on to the Health Department.

Pat Zeppieri
Assistant Operations Manager
NSW Amateur Pistol Association Inc

**UPDATE 5 21st May 2020**

Range now open, well sort of.

We appreciate your patience with this, it has been a long time coming.

Have a read of this from the NSWAPA, it will outline what we can and cannot do.
We will not stray from these guidelines, The club has agreed to abide by these rules.

Dear Club Secretary

During a phone conference with the NSW Sports Minister and Sports NSW today, it was stated that sport can resume as long as we adhere to the Public Health Orders.

We have put forward the following rules: (Printable Version Attached)

GENERAL

· Individuals should not return to sport if in the last 14 days you have been unwell or had close contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19

· Do not come to the Club if you have any cold or flu like symptoms (cough, sore throat, fever, sneezing, shortness of breath etc)

· At all times maintain social distancing of at least 1.5 metres

· Wash you hands before attending the Club and regularly when you are at the Club

· Club House and any Indoor Ranges to remain closed. This area will be considered for re-opening at a later date.

Outdoor Range Open only – No Indoor Ranges to be used

ON THE RANGE

No more than 10 people allowed on an individual range within a range complex.

You must maintain the 1.5m rules of social distancing at all times.

For Static Matches (ie Shooting within a bay), every 2nd bay to be used.

Arrive - Shoot and Go Home. No group socialising.

No coaching

No mixing of members (including coaches, range officers) between separate groups. Shooters, Coaches and Referees are included in the total maximum number of 10 people.

Gathering as a group before or after sport is not possible.

Spectators or people providing transport should remain in their vehicle or leave the venue when possible.

You must not travel between clubs to shoot, you can only shoot on your home range.

No sharing of equipment.

HYGIENE

Change Rooms to remain closed – toilets may be available for use. If a toilet is accessed via a change room, the toilet may be used, the change room may not.

Practise plenty of hand and equipment sanitising

It is strongly suggested that all members:

Bring hand wash or sanitiser to wash/sanitise hands before and after sport.

Bring their own drink bottle, towel etc

Avoid unnecessary contact (ie shaking hands, high fives etc)

All equipment should be wiped clean after use

All members are strongly encouraged to download the Government’s CovidSafe app.

We will open Range 3 on Saturday's only at this early stage.
Hey, at least it is something!
We always said we would get the range open as soon as we could!
Baby steps first coming out of this.

We will open this Saturday, the 23rd May 2020. Choice!!

We will alternate between .22 sport or .22 standard pistol each week on Range 3 only.
We will start this week with Sport Pistol.
Depending on responses / demand, we will run matches at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and if demand warrants, another match at 4pm.

At this early stage, due to current regulations, we will only accept 10 people on the range at one time, 9 shooters and 1 RO.
There will be a new RO for each session to limit exposure.

Only each second bay used.

The rosters are a work in progress; We will only accept "applications" from 9am Friday for the coming Saturday.
Applications will be accepted by email only to tlmpclub@hotmail.com on a first in first serve basis.
On the email, please put your name (obviously) and your preferred time.
If your time cannot be accommodated, state whether you are willing to shoot in another time slot.
You will receive an email by 5pm Friday with your time slot.

Apologies in advance if you miss out, it is not our intention to muck about the members.
We will notify all applicants in any case.

At this early stage, we will not do group bookings.
We understand you want to shoot with your mates, who doesn't, but it is untenable at this early stage.
We will look into this in the future, once again baby steps first.

I will be the first to state this is not ideal, but we will do all we can to ameliorate your request.

Once again, please bear with us. The last thing we want is 150 cars lined up out the front, I am sure you can understand.

To be fair to all members and because of no mixing of groups, you can only shoot once per day at your allotted time.

So here we go with the rules, subject to change, but this is what we have so far and are running with it.
Please understand the limitations and be patient.

The club house and canteen will not be open. The toilets, due to their size will be one person only at a time, due to social distancing guidelines.

Please bring your own pen to sign in with, and your drink, in bottles only.

No food please, unless medically required.

We will supply hand sanitiser (75% proof, amazing!), feel free to bring your own.

Your temperature will be taken (contactless) and logged in the sign in book next to your name.

No club guns at this early stage, it is an infection risk and we are concerned about the hand sanitiser's effect on the firearms.
We will look into this further as time goes on, sorry to those affected by this, we are aware of it.

The aim of opening is to allow you to shoot, no hanging about after or before you shoot, you must leave after you shoot.

Yeah, we realise we all want to talk to our mates, but not yet, soon, but not yet.

Only shooters on the "roster" will be allowed entry, then the gates locked.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your start time, leave after you shoot, do not hang about.
We have to let the next roster in, so please understand.

When you have finished the shooting series, please be guided by the RO.
In discussion with the Club Captain, he has requested that you sit on the back benches whilst the RO clears the firearms.
That is, stay out of the bays to maintain social distancing requirements and keep your RO's safe.

We can expect indoor ranges to be open sometime in July all going well. Subject to change.

Once again, not ideal, but a gradual return to normality.

Thanks for reading, the webmaster looks forward to a slurry of emails from keen shooters, bring it on!

Any feedback welcomed to tlmpclub@hotmail.com

**UPDATE 3** 15th May 2020

Please find below a copy of an email received from the NSWAPA today with an update.
We hope this clears things up.

Furthermore, your committee is meeting tomorrow in a socially distanced manner to discuss the email below and preparing further steps to reopening for all our members.

Stay tuned, we will keep you updated here, stay safe.

Subject: Message from NSWAPA President - COVID-19 / Return to Sport Update

Dear Club Secretary

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has stated that he wants sports to open up in 3 stages, as per the guidelines put out by the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).

Below is the recommendation from the AIS:

This recommendation was unacceptable to the NSWAPA, and immediately made representation to the CEO of Sport NSW. (We have not yet received a reply).
We are also trying to make further representations to make return to shooting that is acceptable to all members, not just a select few.

Unfortunately another sporting organisation has put out a notice that shooting was meant to be restarted today, 15 May 2020, contrary to any notice from the Government, Sports NSW or Firearms Registry.

The fact is, it was obvious to us that this notice was incorrect. The notice has caused nothing but confusion as many of our members have received this from other sources, with members questioning why the NSWAPA had not been on the ball.

This other sporting organisation has now backed off from it’s notice, with no admission of fault or apology.

Rest assured, we are endeavouring to get the powers that be to allow our sport to re-commence in some sort of logical manner, and that we shall notify you immediately of any developments.
Regards

Brian Cheers
President - NSWAPA

**UPDATE 2.0**

We are looking into getting the range re-opened in July when Stage 3 of the Governments road map is commenced in NSW at this early stage. Please keep visiting the website as notifications will be posted here as to when we re-open and in what capacity.

Your committee has already started planning on re-opening and in what capacity. As it is an emerging and evolving situation, changes and modifications to a plan will happen, so please bear with us.

We will be guided by state and federal governments, and our sporting bodies as to when and how we reopen.

We have purchased hand sanitiser to be put in high contact areas. RO's and range officials will be supplied masks and gloves. Your temperature will be checked and logged on entry. If you have any symptoms, you are advised not to attend the club and will be turned away if you have any symptoms.

Only shooters, and RO's allowed in the ranges at any one time.
We have been advised that a 4M square spacing is required indoors, so will aim to manage around this. Therefore, it may be every second bay utilised.

Obviously club calendar changes will occur and will be updated on the website when we have a better idea of how we will operate in a "post COVID-19 world".

We may well need to introduce a roster, booking or lottery system, but this is only in early stages of discussion.

Furthermore, the club is still being maintained by Bob and his merry band of helpers, whilst still maintaining social distancing requirements, thanks Graham and Lindsay.

The committee welcomes your thoughts and as always, any feedback is appreciated to tlmpclub@hotmail.com

We are aware of a document just released by the NSW SSAA. We are currenlty reviewing it and will provide further updates as they come to hand, stay tuned and stay safe.

If you cannot attend, please consider making a donation for materials used.
Newer members are especially encouraged to attend.
It is a great opportunity to work alongside other members who you would not otherwise run into, and make new friends.
Even if you are not a "active" person, we have jobs for everyone, so please come along and support YOUR club.
It also counts as a "shoot" on FAR records, nothing to lose; Free feed, good mates, free exercise, lots of laughs.

The first half of the 2014 Calendar is up on the calendar page, exciting!
Peter has gone to alot of time / effort / thought / trouble to make it the best calandar ever, the webmaster agrees.
Our range improvements have been done, the new calandar reflects this, so fun times ahead for 2014.

Speaking of range improvements, we have had a big year doing up the ranges and generally improving the facilities for members.

Last, but by no means least, shout outs must go to our junior shooters for a fantastic year on the competition circuit.
We think it is the best year ever for our juniors in away shoots, with some amazing achievements, good one!

Another great year for TLMPC, we look forward to seeing you all in 2014 at our fantastic club.

October 2013

Working Bee...
The working bee was once again well attended, thankyou. The clubhouse and ranges are looking quite "spiffy".

Club Championships...
The 2013 Club Championships are in full swing. Check the calendar for all the info.
The Club scorer says it best, so click here for all the guff.

AGM...
We held our AGM, congratulations to our new committee members and thanks to Peter Maz for being the returning officer.
The club is going from strength to strength. We are financially sound, have great people, envious facilities, a fanatstic juniors program and a strong committee.
You should all be proud of what we have.

Speaking of facilities, we have upgraded range 2 and are currently waiting approval. A big job, but we are almost there.

We want to get some more photos up, the club has changed so much. If you have some photos you wish to see up on the site, be it of our great facilities, or of members, just being members..., let the webmaster know.

I guess it is not too early to mention the Christmas party. Mark the 14th December on your calendars for The President's Novelty Shoot and, as always a great party afterwards.

Last but by no means least, Congratulations to our "away shooters" on their success at Wagga. Great stuff! Not to mention this article also.

If you are interested in going to "away" shoots, please speak with Allison. They are great fun and a chance to meet other shooters from different clubs.

At our AGM, the members voted in some changes to our constitution. You can download the new constitution on our committee page here.

June 2013 Again

Wow, two updates in a month, we are on fire...

New calendar up on the calendar page for July - December 2013.
With the new range upgrades, we are able to offer more variety of matches, reflected in the new calendar.
Check it out, up on the calendar page now.
The Club scorer says it best; "Range 2 is expected to have all modifications completed by the end of July 2013.
25y Service matches are shown on Sundays to coincide with matches on the Saturday.
This will allow for those unable to shoot on the previous day and the competition will include matches shot over the weekend, the same as ISSF matches."

The Calendar will be reviewed with input from all interested members for 2014, to ensure all matches are well catered for.
Any feedback on the calendar is appreciated, please speak with a committee member if you wish to have your say.
This also goes for anything you would like to discuss with regards to the club in general.

The club has just purchased 2 "high end" air pistols for the use of members.
For those of you without an air pistol, this presents a wonderful opportunity to try this discipline with "something nice".

We have had a general tidy up of the facilities page. Speaking of facilities, a reminder that our outdoor 50M range, range 3 is available for 25M and 50M Rimfire matches.
20 Bays of goodness available for Free, Standard and Sport Pistol.
If you wish to take advantage of range 3, just speak with the Club Captain and he will sort you out.

Club BBQ on Saturday 22nd June @ 4:30PM, be there!
For those who feel the cold, our slow combustion heater will be cranking to keep you warm, and Big Al's tasty menu of winter warmers will fill up your tummies.

June 2013

Time for an update of the comings and goings of your club.

We are grateful to the NSW Office of Communities for the grant received. We are currently undertaking extensive renovations of range 2, exciting!

NZ classic match has become quite popular, check the calendar for details of when it is shot.
It is an ideal match for those who wish to compete in the service disciplines without lying in the dirt.
Details here from the Pistol NZ site.
Essentially it is a service "type" match shot with classic centrefire pistols. The PDF above has all the info.
It is great fun, give it go. Speak with the club captain if you require more information.

The committee is noticing a steady increase in junior members. It is very good to see juniors taking up this great sport.
TLMPC is committed to supporting our juniors as best we can. Juniors are the future of the sport.

The committee would also like to remind those in wheelchairs, we have full facilities available for you.
As a rule, all that is needed to compete in this sport is one arm and one eye.

Speaking of upgrades, the air pistol range was recently upgraded with new target winders.
The air pistol range has undergone numerous upgrades over the years, world class would be a good word to describe it.
More air pistol news; The committee is considering a monthly trophy of sorts, however, we are after ideas.
Please speak with a committee member if you have any ideas on a monthly trophy / round robin type arrangement.
The idea is to get more members shooting air pistol on our fantastic range.

Enough for now, see you on the range, the webmaster will post some pics of range 2 once the upgrades have been completed, stay tuned.

CHRISTMAS PARTY 2012

As always, we are having a MASSIVE Christmas party again this year on the 15th December starting at 4:30PM. Big Al (Masterchef) is catering with his fanciful Christmas fare that is getting great reviews from the members.
Please attend, it truly is a great afternoon / evening. Your spouses and children are most welcome to attend, indeed we encourage it. It gives your loved ones a chance to see where you spend all your time and see what all the fuss is about.
If you plan on attending, please put your name and number of people attending on the blackboard in the club house, so we can get an idea of numbers for Big Al's catering effort.
Heaps of fun, games, prizes, trivia and raffles (Sparrow's favourite). The damage is $10.00 per head and children free (as in beer). See you all there.

October 2012

It is with great sadness to learn of George Hudson's passing on the 1st October. George was a much liked, friendly and fun member.
Goerge contributed alot to the club, serving on the committee and training new shooters.
We will miss you George, RIP.

460 Avoca Drive Green Point.

Please attend the AGM on 14th October at 10am. A sausage sizzle will be held afterwards. Come and vote for next years committee.
To the newer members, this is an important event on the club calendar. The majority of the membership attends.
Our esteemed president also does an excellent speech and this alone is worthy of your time.

Our recent working bee was well attended as usual. It goes to show the strength of our club when "heaps" of people turn up.

Congratulations must go to our junior shooters. They represented your club quite well at the NSWAPA ISSF State Championships.
Well done Chris and Ryana. Please encourage our juniors, they are the future of this excellent sport.

February 2012

New rules, see the "want to join" link and updated FAQ. it is mainly for new or prospective members looking for information on how to get involved in this great club and fun safe sport.
It seems Ron and Lindsay love the new BBQ, come down on a Thursday evening and find out why.
Constant improvements to the club include new lights over the posts on range 1.
Speaking of improvements, the dunnies and clubhouse are fantastic; New paint in baby puke green looks sensational. <<-- Really it does.
Don't forget Club trophy presentation and BBQ on Saturday 25th Feb. It will be Big Al's first time as "Master Chef" and we are all looking forward to see what he dishes up.
As always, any suggestions, questions, or even answers are greatly appreciated. It is YOUR club. Please let a committee member know of your ideas or email the webmaster.
Speaking of ideas, we have a try shooting day open to members on the 25th February, before Al's big feast and Peter's trophies.
The idea is that members can try another discipline. Say you are a hard core Free Pistol shooter, but keep hearing of Sparrow's merry men of happy black powder shooters.
Well this is your day. If you are a service shooter, try ISSF. You get the drift. A big day planned, so please attend and support your club.
Who knows, you may enjoy it and find a new discipline and make even more friends.

8th January 2012

It is with much sadness to hear of the passing of Reg Patterson at 7:30PM on the 8th January 2012.
Reg joined TLMPC in May 1991. Reg was an active and vocal member of the club, relishing his roles as returning officer and delegate.
Always a stickler for the rules, he loved versing new shooters, indeed he helped write our club constituition.
Reg was a real character and will be sorely missed by his friends at TLMPC.

December 2011

Thanks John for all the cooking over the years. Welcome goes to Big Al and Ron, our new masters of the BBQ.

Speaking of fun, about 40 of us went to an Italian restaurant last Wednesday. A good night for the social butterflies.
It is just another aspect of this great club to be enjoyed.
If you have an idea for a night out, a day trip, or an event you think may be of interest to other members,
please share you idea to a committee member. We all like a good time too.

Have a look at the links page, it has become quite comprehensive, a new link at the bottom is very popular with the gun researchers in the club.
Once again, if you have any ideas for the site, or the club in general, please speak to a committee member and we will put your ideas forward.

We are also looking forward to hosting the Junior NSW State Junior Championships in November.
Also good to see our juniors doing well. Three of our juniors
recently competed in the Tristate at Oakleigh Pistol Club.
NSW beat VIC and SA by over 1000 points. Photo below of the NSW Junior team, good one.

July 2009

Time for some more news and an update.

Our Try Shooting Day was a great success, both members and the public thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Approx 50 people through the door to try this great sport. Approx 5 new members.
While the day was not intended as a recruitment day, it was great to see 48 of our members attend and take the time to show friends and family what they get up to at TLMPC.

While the club provided some ammo many members provided their own and this is much appreciated as is your time and patience in showing people what pistol shooting is about.

A number of our new members and juniors also got to grips with 50m Free Pistol.
Thanks again to all who gave their time and experience to making the day most enjoyable for our visitors.

Black Powder. Our first real match of black powder was shot recently. More participants are welcome.
See Lindsay or Glenn if you are keen. Looks like a bit of fun!!

Central Coast Motor Group have donated a large Perpetual Shield for the current Club Championships. Good on them too, we REALLY appreciate the support.
http://www.ccmg.com.au/ <-- The least we can do is provide a link, Thanks again!
The shield will be for our first Teams Events Trophy with 3 shooter teams shooting any of the championships events they nominate.

Have added some more links too, check it out!

Well that is it for now. As always, any ideas, suggestions or money $$$ can be directed to the webmaster. email: Dave

June 2009

TRY SHOOTING DAY - Saturday 6th June 2009

The purpose of the TRY SHOOTING DAY next Saturday is for members to allow friends, relatives or acquaintances to attend the range and experience various forms of pistol shooting. It will also provide our new members with a chance to shoot Centre Fire and 50m Pistol if they have not already done so.

All that is required is that the person visiting and intending to shoot must complete the Firearms Registry for P650 and show their drivers licence to identify themselves.

Range 1 will shoot Centre Fire (.32, .38, 9mm) and Range 2 Rimfire (.22) while Range 3 will be used for 50m Pistol and anyone wanting to just practice using .22 only. Air Pistol will be available as well.

Note: Juniors are welcome but must attend with a legal Guardian, usually a parent, or they will not be allowed to shoot.. Please take this opportunity to show your friends etc why you enjoy shooting and what its all about.............we hope to see everyone interested next Saturday.

February 2009

Happy new year!
A new year and some news.

We have planted 8 citrus trees by the fence, look forward to some fruit in a few years. If your name is on the roster to care for our new babies, please participate.

Our membership continues to climb and our new members are all welcome. We have a great training program in place now, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our new member officer Tom (golf clap please), and the others behind the scenes that send off all the paper work.

Your committee is taking the initial steps to cover Range 3. Exciting stuff!
We are using your funds to continually upgrade and improve your club.
Another example of this is the new shade area over the picnic tables out the front, complimenting the trees.
Thanks to our prez Bob, who sorted this with his trusty band of helpers.
This has gone down real well with members in the current hot weather and you will often find members sitting there discussing the finer points of the shooting sports and some lies too!

Thanks must also go to Lindsay and Ron who "sort" your Thursday night BBQ. It is still a very popular attraction after all these years and has you all lined up for a feed. If you have not had a BBQ on a Thursday night, come down and pour your favourite condiment on a mystery bag with a bit of bread. Not to mention Bacon and Onions, oh my!
These guys will go to any length to satisfy; A wide variety of salads, sauces and breads all yours for a modest fee.
With our large selection of soft drinks to wash it down, you will not go home dissapointed.

While we are handing out the Kudos, Thanks to Peter, our ever diligent club scorer. Peter has even taken to emailing out results in a timely manner for your interest. If you want to go on Peter's mailing list for scores, please let him know.

Well that is it for now, if you want something on here, let the webmaster know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

October 2008

The Club Championships are in full swing at the moment, come along and join in the fun. A few of our members have already shot a PB in their favourite matches.

Thankyou to those who attended our AGM. Our President Bob, gave a great speech, John as usual cooked a great meal and we elected a new committee.

We get alot of enquiries from prospective members. What we have endeavoured to do is answer those questions here in a new section; FAQ

A quick plug for the collectors club also. We have meetings on the third Thursday at 8pm. Come along and have a look. We have had some real interesting talks and displays this last year.

September 2008

Change in Legislation

From 1 October 2008 changes to the NSW Firearms Legislation will provided for unlicensed persons to shoot under strict conditions at an Approved Club Range upon completing a P650 form ( Persons shooting on an Approved Range or undertaking a Firearms Safety Training Course). Minors 12 - 18 may participate but only in the company of a Parent/Legal Guardian who must supply photographic proof of identity as detailed on the P650. They must meet all requirements as detailed on the P650 and this requires the signed certification of a Club/Range Official or Instructor. August 2008

On the 14th, our members ventured up to cold old Lithgow for a day out.
We toured the former Lithgow Small Arms Factory, now Thales Australia and the Lithgow Small Arms Museum.

We arrived in dribs and drabs for a 7am getaway from the club house. Dribs and drabs was how it was for the whole day.
As our Prez Bob said, "It is like Brown's cows here".
Lithgow was bloody cold; Our tour guide at Thales said this is the warmest day we have had for over a week! Wow!

Anyway, the tour of Thales was fantastic, many were impressed by the barrel forging in the factory tour.
The tour of the armoury was like letting little boys loose in a candy store.
We got to see all the toys and witness the test firing of a machine gun.
Thanks to Thales, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Next up was the Small Arms Museum to see the Ron Hayes collection.
Your club made a donation to sponsor a cabinet, this was a unanimous decision of the committee.
The collection is truly amazing, what can I say, something for everyone.
To think that not all of the collection is out yet. Definately worth a repeat visit.

Some pics below; Our Prez Bob making the donation and "Us".

A great day enjoyed by all.

We are currently processing approx 10 new members, with more to come. We usually get around 20 new members from this with about 80% renewing.

PISTOL CLUBS: If you are reading this, it is the BEST way to get new members into this great sport.
The Open Day requirements have gotten increasingly more detailed with currently 17 items of conditions, many very onus, however we are happy to meet the requirements given the use we make of open days and our previous experience.
TLMPC has held open days in 2001, 2004 and 2006. 2008 was big and these events are extremely popular.

Update time, alot happening so here goes.......
First up we have a calendar update for your enjoyment. Go to the calendar link.
As the Pres says "Now that it is being used the troops want changes."

Next up, we have formed our collectors club.
We will be having regular meetings on the third Thursday of each month. In our first formal meeting, Peter blew us all away with his impressive discourse, show and general skills in bayonets and collecting. Top Job Peter. Awesome.

The committee has put up a job list of regular chores that need to be performed. Don't be shy, it is your club too.
Put your name on the list. Some things are as mundane as sweeping the path to the dunnies. Help your club, go on, you know you want to.

Our club continues to go from Strength to Strength. Attendances on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays are awesome. Our new members are very keen and it is a great thing to see them enjoying the facilities.

December 2006

Time again for an update.

We had our Christmas party and award presentation on the 9th. All who attended will agree it was a top night.
It was also good to see members families attend as well. We even had the Mayor in attendance, good stuff.

Congratulations to Batesy for being club person of the year, a well deserved and popular winner.
He was very surprised to get the gong, we all kept mum on this, and he was stoked.

It is really good to see new faces get a trophy/medal.

Thanks must go to Glenn and Robyn for organising a top raffle this year. Even the webmaster won something!

Yackandandah 2005
14 of your fellow members represented your club at Yackandandah Open Shoot 2005. Held over the weekend of 22-23 October 2005.
Results here. As you can see, we did alright, our club walked away with a few trophies.
We also increased the fiscal wealth of the township (especially the Pubs). Lee gets "Pants Man" of the trip, as well as top gun. An awesome time was had by all. The trip was as much about going to an "away" shoot, as it was going away with friends. Awesome Stuff!

Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt - Thanks for the great time!

Building Works
Due to ongoing building and renovation works, our club continues to be a premier pistol shooting venue in NSW, quite possibly Australia.
The work that has gone into our club from members is a sterling effort, with more to come in 2006. There have been improvements across all of our facilities in 2005, too numerous to mention here, to the point; it is a pleasure to shoot at TLMPC.

Committee
Fair credit due to your Committee who has done a marvelous job this year (like every year) under the leadership of our esteemed Pres; Bill.
Members should consider that ALOT of work goes in to the running and administration of your club. Your committee does alot of work behind the scenes.

We are having a working bee on Saturday 30th November to put the artificial grass on the ranges. Please attend and help your club. A BBQ will be put on as usual. Please bring wheelbarrows, shovels, gloves and anything else you may think useful. Unfortunately, there will be no shooting on this day, but you can make up for it and come and shoot service pistol match on Sunday.

Our club championships were successful again with some great scores recorded. Thanks to all those who participated.

It appears as if our sport is under the spotlight again. Now would be a great time to phone, visit, fax, write or E-Mail your local member and newspaper. More info here.

Members are reminded about the rules regarding noise reduction on our outside range, The Steve O'Donaghue Range, Range 3. No shooting before 10:00am, .22 only, no centrefires. Shooting is only permitted on Saturday's on this range. Members are also reminded, no shooting before 10:00am on any range. If you require further clarification, please see the club captain.

Range 3 is proving quite popular with the "hardcore" free pistol shooters which is great to see. Check the calendar and see when this match is next shot. Come and see what all the fuss is about.

Our club secretary held a very informative pistol maintenance course on Saturday afternoon. In particular was the stripping of the S&W Revolver to it's frame. Great stuff. Fortunately, no springs or gun parts were seen flying across the room.

A sheet is up on the notice board requesting expressions of interest from members regarding setting up for metallic silhouette. We want to know if members are interested in shooting this discipline, and if so, how often?

As always, some more links to keep you happy.

10/10/02: PICTURES...We have finally added some images to the site. Check out the images link for more.

Among jobs completed were more lights in range 1, A new roof on the toilet block, along with some painting, 5 new whirly birds in the air pistol range were added, A new 10 yard line was painted for the Service shooters in range 1 and some serious lawn mowing/garden maintenance along with some general cleaning and a tidy up was done.
