What this page aims to achieve is answer the most common questions asked by prospective members.
Please also read the "Want to Join" page / link.

* First, and foremost, we do not discriminate.
People from all walks of life are encouraged to join.
Men, Women, Pensioners, Physically disabled (you only need one arm and one eye as a minimum), children over 12 (as long as they have written approval from their LEGAL GUARDIAN) are all welcome.

* You must complete and sign a "P650" form which will cover you (and us) during your training.
Download one here.
A P650 info sheet is here for all you need to know about "RANGE USE BY AN UNLICENCED PERSON".
We also have a P650 fact sheet here. to get the complete picture.

* We shoot Wednesday morning's from 9AM. Thursday Evenings from 6PM. Saturday from 9:30AM, Sunday from 10AM
The best way to find out about our club is to come in and ask your questions during these times.

* How much? <-- We get asked this alot!
To join our club, we have different tiers of pricing, depending on your circumstance. Adult, Family and Junior rates all apply. Licensing fees also apply and the pricing schedule from the FAR (NSW Firearms Registry) can be found here. Our club joining fee is $250 for an adult or a Family. No pensioner discounts unfortunately. This is a once off fee. Yearly fees for an adult are ~ $310.00, $285.00 for each family member and $195 for a junior. The fee is prorata from when you join during the shooting year.
This is indicative pricing only.

* Your club dues are payable each year in October (in full) and we tier pricing by month. We also give a discount if you are an SSAA member. As you can see, it is hard to give you a hard and fast price, so please come in and ask when you join what the damage is.
Fee Structure here. Our club scorer says it better, "The adult fee is $310 a year and covers insurance and affiliation with NSWAPA and Pistol Australia, or you can choose to affiliate with the SSAA." Our accepted forms of payment are cash, cheque, or direct deposit. We also have electronic facilites, so we can take your card/s, phone, etc.

* How Often? <-- We also get asked this question alot!
We like to see you at least monthly, practice makes perfect, or so the saying goes, it is a safety thing really.
Here is the link to the legislation regarding the number of shoots legally required to keep your licence in NSW.

* When can I get a gun? Not the smartest question to ask when you first join. After successfully completing a Safe Handling Course and joining the club you can apply for a Probationary Pistol Licence (PPL). You may use our comprehensive range of club guns at the club captain's discretion for practice and our regular matches while continuing to shoot on the P650 form until issued with your PPL.

The PPL factsheet can be found here.
Before you ask, NO, you can not take them home to show your mates.
You may purchase up to two pistols after 6 months (an Air Pistol and either a Centre fire or Rimfire ) and after 12 months, if approved, what ever you require to shoot your chosen matches.
You need to obtain a Permit to Acquire from FAR for the Club Secretary to complete to certify you comply with the requirements of the Permit when purchasing a firearm.
Within your first 6 months of being issued a PPL you need to complete a Comprehensive Pistol Firearms Safety Training (PPL) Course which also requires you to undertake 3 competition club shoots.
On successful completion of the course a Completion Certificate will be sent to Firearms (FAR) who then issue Permits to acquire after you have had your Probationary Licence for six (6) months.
